Page contents: Restoration Saba Communications Tower
Minister Ter Horst and Lieutenant Governor Johnson of Saba climbed Mount Scenery - the highest point of the Kingdom – to sign an agreement for the restoration of the communications tower there for the joint control room of the emergency services.
The accessibility and rapid response of the emergency services are to be upgraded. This is a significant contribution to the safety on the islands and is part of the transition process of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba to public entities of the Netherlands.
During Minister Ter Horsts visit to the islands she met with police officers and fire fighters to inform them on the improvement program. On Saba and St. Eustatius she was also introduced to the quartermasters of the Royal Military Police. In her conversation with Lieutenant Governor Johnson, the minister called the transition of islands to special municipalities an enrichment for the Netherlands.
